We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations in a unionized environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in supervising hourly employees and fostering a safe and efficient work environment. This role will also play a key part in our Health & Safety Committee, helping to drive compliance and continuous improvement in workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production employees in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ensure all production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met.
  • Maintain strict adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the Health & Safety Committee, identifying and addressing potential hazards and supporting safety initiatives.
  • Monitor and improve safety performance metrics, conduct incident investigations, and support corrective action implementation.
  • Resolve personnel issues in partnership with Human Resources and union representatives, ensuring compliance with labor contracts and policies.
  • Train and coach employees on job duties, safety protocols, and operational best practices.
  • Monitor material usage, minimize waste, and ensure optimal equipment utilization.
  • Lead daily production meetings and maintain clear communication between shifts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (OSHA or equivalent) and active participation in safety committees.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing software (ERP/MES systems preferred).
Preferred:
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in industrial management, Engineering, or a related field.

Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Regular walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work off-shifts or weekends as needed.
