Position Summary
The Financial Analyst supports financial reporting, analysis, and compliance activities within a manufacturing environment. This role is hands-on in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), with responsibility for journal entries, reporting, inquiries, and data extraction. The position also supports transfer pricing compliance, intercompany transactions, commission and rebate management, system enhancements, and ad-hoc financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Perform gross margin analysis by product, customer, and business unit to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct variance analysis comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior periods, including explanations for key changes.
- Partner with Sales and Operations to improve pricing, costing, and profitability.
- Maintain standard costing models and support cost updates.
Intercompany Transactions
- Manage intercompany loan balances and reconciliation.
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany subledgers.
- Work with international or cross-entity teams to validate entries and maintain audit-ready records.
Commission & Rebate Management
- Calculate sales commission payouts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with commission plans.
- Track, validate, and reconcile vendor and customer rebates, including accruals, claims, and true-ups.
- Support continuous improvement of rebate and commission processes.
KPI Development & Reporting
- Maintain key performance indicators related to gross margin, cost control, and operational efficiency.
- Deliver monthly performance analysis to management.
- Identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
Variance Analysis (Gross Margin Focus)
- Perform detailed price, volume, mix, and cost variance analysis.
- Compare actual results to budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Provide actionable explanations for margin deviations.
Month-End & Operational Support
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules during month-end close.
- Maintain documentation for internal controls and audit purposes.
- Support finance projects, budgeting, and forecast activities.
- Support short- to mid-term departmental and organizational goals.
Transfer Pricing
- Support development and documentation of transfer pricing policies.
- Ensure intercompany transactions comply with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparation of transfer pricing documentation for tax compliance.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors when required.
Special Projects & Ad Hoc Analysis
- Support ERP system enhancements and cost accounting improvements.
- Conduct profitability studies and scenario analysis.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Provide financial modeling and decision support as requested.
Systems and Tools
- Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 Finance & Operations) for journal entries, reporting, inquiries, and data extraction.
- Assist with system clean-ups, master data validation, and improving D365 reporting accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in a financial analyst or accounting role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Strong Excel skills; Power BI or similar reporting tools considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
